ALPHA GOLF may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page together with a revised "Last Updated" date.

Griffin, our AI shop assistant (website chat)

What it is. Griffin, our website chat (named after our shop dog), is an AI assistant that helps you choose shafts, grips and other products and check that they fit your clubs. It is not a person. When a question needs our team, Griffin can prepare an email for you to review and send to hi@alphagolfclubs.com from your own email app.

What we process when you chat.

  • Your messages and the assistant's replies.
  • The page you're on, the product and option you've selected, and the names of up to five pages you viewed earlier in the same visit, so Griffin knows which product you mean. This list stays in your browser and is sent only with a message you choose to send. It is cleared when you close the tab.
  • Basic technical information needed to run the service, such as your IP address, which we use only to prevent abuse and never store with your chat.

To answer you, your messages are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes them on our behalf. We keep chat records for up to 90 days to review quality and fix problems, and we mask email addresses, phone numbers and card-like numbers before storing them.

Emailing our team from the chat. If you click "Email our team", the chat opens a pre-written email in your email app (or lets you copy it). Nothing is sent until you press Send. The email then goes to our support inbox and is handled like any other email you send us.

Saving your chat ("Save this chat"). Nothing is remembered between visits unless you choose to save your chat. If you click Save this chat, we keep:

  • a short summary of your golf equipment and fitting details (for example your clubs, current shafts and grips, swing speed, typical miss and goals);
  • the products we recommended;
  • a short note of where you left off.

We store this so you can pick up where you left off and get better, more personal help next time. We don't use it to set prices or to make automated decisions about you. We never store payment details, addresses, phone numbers, order numbers, or health or allergy information in your saved profile.

A saved chat is kept in your browser and on our secure systems (Cloudflare) for 24 months after your last visit. Each visit restarts the 24 months. After that it is deleted automatically.

Emailing yourself a link ("Email me this chat"). If you give us your email for this feature, we send you a summary and a secure link to continue your chat on any device.

  • The link works once, for 30 days.
  • We don't store your email address itself. We keep a coded version (a secure hash) so you can ask for a new link later.
  • We use your email only to send this message and any new links you request, and we won't send you marketing unless you sign up for it separately.
  • These emails are delivered by our email provider, Resend.

Your choices and rights.

  • Saving is always optional. The chat works without it.
  • Click Forget me in the chat at any time to delete your saved profile, the saved chat on that device, and any links, straight away.
  • You can also email hi@alphagolfclubs.com to ask what we have saved about you or to ask us to delete it. We will respond within the time required by law.
  • Depending on where you live, including California and the European Economic Area, you may have additional rights, such as the right to access, correct or delete your personal information. We don't sell or share chat information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and similar storage. The chat stores a random code in your browser only after you choose to save, so we can recognize your saved chat when you return. This storage is used only for the feature you asked for, not for advertising or analytics. Saving a chat does not change your other cookie choices.
